Mystery Orb Spider

This spider has been making it's living in the garage for some time. There are actually two of them but they're about the same species anyway. So far this is the largest spider I've seen that is not displayed in a museum or pinned up and frame.

Anyways so I went to Google to search for spiders in Ottawa. The first result was the sculpture outside the art gallery while the second result on the page was a bit more resourceful only to find that most of the images were gone. Yet it led me in the right direction to search for orb spiders.

Now I don't really trust Wikipedia for scientific information but I find it useful for the photos it provides (and detailed TV show and movie recaps though those things constantly change too). So the page says that these things are named after the shape of their web which is round. The webs are also wheel-shaped. Though the web is faintly shown I could say it's wheel-shaped.
Anyways so I also compared it to one of the images in the gallery and this one seemed close enough to it. As for the specific kind of orb spider, probably the Argiope but the I didn't take note if the web has some specific design or not. Well if someone out there knows anything about spiders hopefully someone can give me some insight.
