Dear Metrobus, please come back

I know I only have 6 followers (more or less) but here I go:

It has been 2 months since Metrobus, the city bus system in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, went on strike. Within these two months I'm not so sure if union leader(s) will agree to accept any offer thrown at them.

With that aside here are my thoughts on public transportation regarding buses:
Buses are cheaper in terms of how much one has to pay for his or her destination. Taxis, though useful in the way that they don't have to follow a route of some sort and have more cargo space, are metered since the price goes up for, let's say $0.25/5km (I don't know the exact rate), and the meter still ticks while waiting for the light to change or traffic to move. Buses one just has to pay one price (let's say $2.50) to reach his or her destination.

I may not be too keen on environmental stuff but buses can hold more people than a car and reduce the number of cars on the road.

I personally prefer the bus over a taxi because of the cost. I mean I could try to see if one of my buddies is available to give me a ride to some place but who knows if the person I ask to give me a ride decides to cop out at the last minute.

Okay my thoughts on buses consisted of one thing which is basically the cost. Not everyone can afford to pay for a taxi every day to get them places and the cost of a single bus fare usually is within budget range.

My other issue with unions. What I like about unions is that they provide things like dental insurance and fight for workers rights. What I'm not liking here at the moment is I'm not too sure if the union here is really trying to make this better for the workers or if the union is just greedy. Anyways I do hope the buses come back soon.
