30 day challenge: Day 1

I might say something about my trip to Saint Petersburg when I have the time, but for now I'll try this blog challenge. Also my blog turned a year old sometime in August. Yay!

Day 1 - Which college was your number one choice? Are you going to that school? If not, how did you handle the rejection? If so, is it everything you always thought it would be?


I initially wanted to do pharmacy or European studies. I applied to four universities in Ontario and the one and only university in Newfoundland and Labrador. The ones I applied for in Ontario were University of Toronto (U of T), York University, Queens University and Carleton University. Out of what I applied for my ranking was like this: 

1. U of T/York/Queens (any one of these as long as I was away from home)
2. Memorial University
3. Carleton (as this was in my hometown)

I was rejected by those in 1 because of my grades, even for an arts program at York. I think my acceptance to Memorial University arrived last out of all of them so I thought my hopes were getting dim when out of all the universities I applied to in Ontario only Carleton accepted me.
